Filed Under: Restoration Old and New: An Enchanting Rustic Maison Roly House Design by AABE Erpicum & Partners

If you have an old house then just destroy and build a new one on top of the ruins, check out this Maison Roly which comes from AABE Erpicum & Partners. They have done such a marvelous job by combining old home design with modern house design. The traditional house design is located in Belgium and as you can see it can bring such a sense of elegance as well as warmth with its nice rustic interior design. People can judge the book by the cover if they look at outside of this home design, but they won’t notice as they go inside I’m pretty sure they will get enchanted the same way as I do. It’s definitely a tough job creating an aesthetic contrast of old and new. We hope we can give you idea on rustic interior and what you can do in your traditional house design.

Modern Minimalist Beach House at Star House by AGi Architects

Modern Minimalist Beach House at Star House by AGi Architects

It is difficult to meet demands for rich people when it’s about building a house. Sometimes architects have to deal with bad taste of clients and dictatorial attitude. This bold house is called Star House in Bnaider, Kuwait and it’s designed by AGi Architects. It’s modern home design indeed but it’s really bold and cold I must say. Although the stairs are made from wood we can’t sense the welcoming atmosphere at this waterfront house plans. The pool that faces the ocean is definitely great but it’s only because of the vista. On the lower level, the house extends into the landscape and the sea.

AGi Architects made this beach house plans in correlation with the coastline of Kuwait. It’s a nice approach but unluckily it’s too edgy. This is perhaps the most architectural beach house design which others might say that it’s great but not to us. The initial design was originally made for three detached dwellings and the client opted for a single modern house design, two bungalows and a boathouse to make it possible for further expansion in the future. Still it’s a good place for a minimalist resort house.

A Perfect Modern House Design in Brazil by Flávio Castro

Casa Acapulco designed by Flávio Castro seems to have it all. The home itself has a diverse modern architecture and it’s located in a subdivision of Guaruja (municipality in Sao Paulo Brazil). The modern residence is built on top of 520 square meters and the house itself occupies only just about 340 meters square thus make the remaining area as garden or recreational lawn and for the pool.

Like any other modern houses, this home uses floor to ceiling windows to give a good lighting throughout the day as well as to create a good correlation with the house outdoor. You will love the stairways built in this house as underneath it has small pool design beautifying this home. Water elements at this house seems to be just about anywhere.

Flávio Castro really knows how to make one house that is ready for you to relax. The modern interior design has really taken you to another level making where in one part of the house has an exhibition gallery. The white indoor stairs and the backyard at this mesmerizing modern house design perhaps the focal point and the major attention. With a nice spacious open floor plan, it makes this house ready to be used for just any kind of family gathering or parties.

Simplicity in Luxurious Karlusic Residence by Hirsch Bedner Associates

Simplicity in Luxurious Karlusic Residence by Hirsch Bedner Associates

We were stunned by the amazingly designed Karlusic Residence by a very well known architecture Hirsch Bedner Associates which is also known as HBA. It’s a challenge to create simplicity yet in another way it is also luxurious, but in the end the famous architecture company has done it in exquisite manner. The house design was in simple form of square like other modern minimalist home, but what makes it simple and luxurious is the use of 30 years old Japanese maple into the house that will melt your heart away like cheese.

Although at the front facade the modern home looks defensive, you will totally be amazed how it’s so different from the inside. The interior completely opens up where inside you will find internal courtyard with a lap pool and a line a bamboo on a full stretch to the north boundary. The interior finishes are very warm and natural and this is being emphasized with the use of timber floor which is made from French smoked Oak wide board in a lime finish which clearly shown the depth texture and pattern.

The luxurious residence is fully armed with all modern appliances and technology where the architect intentionally highlighted the technology in reflective metal finishes in polished chrome and glass to create a stark contrast between nature and man. This is also an energy conscious house although high tech appliances are used in this house. Windows have Thermal break frames and are double glazed sealed to keep the heat lost and the floor is well insulated underneath with reflective corrugated insulation paper. To support green concept this luxurious house is fully insulated and is solar heated.

Modern House Design at West Seattle Residence by Lawrence Architecture

Modern House Design at West Seattle Residence by Lawrence Architecture

Modern home design inspiration with main base materials include steel, concrete and glass have been designed by Lawrence Architecture on view property with 3,800 SF of living space and a 925 SF detached garage in the West Seattle district of Seattle, Washington. A concrete wall up to twenty-four feet high organizes the site and the house: the garage, entry and service spaces are on the street side of the wall, while providing privacy for the main living space which is a curtain wall-enclosed pavilion.

The wall is also the organizing element for the circulation including the stairs with cantilevered steel treads. Supported on steel frames and triangular steel trusses, the roof swoops over the concrete wall capping the pavilion. Eight by sixteen foot sections of the curtain wall pivot for ventilation. The stair has demountable guardrails which are normally in place but were removed for the photographs.

The master bedroom is in a loft space above the kitchen, while a family room, media room, children’s bedrooms and bathrooms occupy the daylight basement level. There is additional living space above the garage accessible via stair or future elevator.
